Love It: Question of the Week

Last week I was in a hurry to get to my hair appointment. I very stupidly backed out of my driveway too fast, and into a beautiful, black Audi – hard enough to make a serious dent in the front, right panel.

A few things went through my mind in the few moments following this…

1. ‘Oh F*CK!’, was the first one.

2. Then I repeated many times, ‘Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!’ – mostly because I do have a reversing beeper, that kicked in, but as I was travelling too fast, I didn’t react in time.

3. Then it occurred to me that no one saw me and that I could just keep going…pretend it never happened.

Except that it did.

And I was in the wrong.

And would have to own up to my very stupid and very expensive mistake.

4. So I very quickly hopped out of my car and wrote a note to pop the windscreen; ‘Please call me about your car on…blah blah blah….I’m SO sorry!’

I felt like an idiot all day as I waited for my phone to ring. Luckily it was a neighbour up the road, who was super lovely and told me not to stress too much. Mistakes happen, they said. And they do.

But this brings me to this week’s question…

If you damaged someone else’s car, and no one saw you do it, would you own up? Or would you keep on driving??

I would LOVE to hear from you all on this matter.

Love: Question of the Week

I was chatting away to a lovely colleague, Hayley, the other day and I got a whiff of her perfume. I had to comment on how beautiful I thought it was and this started us on a long discussion of perfumes and good ones that were on the market. We both have similar tastes; light, floral, sweet, summery scents.

The one she was wearing at the time was Flora by Gucci (I’m going to shout myself – don’t tell Husband).

I have had a favourite fragrance for a long time; Issey Miyake, which is also a floral, sweet, summery scent. I adore it.

I also have Kate Moss’s ‘Kate Moss‘ and Mariah Carey’s ‘Luscious Pink‘ (This one was a gift from the gorgeous Holly – LOVE it).

– Kate Moss -

– Luscious Pink -

As it is quite special (and quite expensive) I often save my favourite perfume (Issey) for special occasions, such as dinner outings, parties or date nights (doesn’t really get used all that often these days, sadly). The other two are my everyday or work perfumes, that I still love, but am more liberal with their spraying.

I know fragrances are very personal – what smells good on one, may not smell the same on another. I also know that some people are a bit obsessed with perfumes (Sharon Grech). I also know they date – what I LOVED as a teenager, is now a tad old-school (I secretly still  love White Musk and Sunflowers by the way, but can only have a secret sniff in private as they are SO yesterday!)

This got me to thinking…is this normal behaviour? Do you have THE ONE perfume? Or do you rotate your collection of perfumes RANDOMLY? Or with more order? Tell me ALL please!

Alison

Thanks for the perfume inspiration Hayley x

Love: Question of the Week

The other day, I was walking back from the park with Evie and that morning, I had enjoyed a lot of water and a coffee, and I was beginning to feel the need to do a wee. I was still about 20 minutes from home and all I had between me and the comfort (and relief) of my own toilet, were other people’s houses (no public toilets). At this point, it occurred to me that this actually meant that there were probably about 300 toilets I was passing, just in the twenty-minute walk home. This lead me to this week’s question…

If you were really in need of a toilet stop, and only had residential houses around you, would you knock on a stranger’s door, asking, oh so politely, to use their toilet?

And I mean REALLY busting…..
