One thing I WILL miss when we leave our current home is Evie’s bedroom. I designed Evie’s room when I was pregnant with her, and I didn’t know whether we were having a boy or a girl. I kept it pretty neutral and have since added girly colours and features. We are very, very lucky to have received many gifts that Evie can enjoy in her beautiful bedroom.
- - Her lovely shoe collection that used to be a CD holder in its past life -
- - Her cube-style bookshelf that Husband cleverly made, with the cane drawers for extra storage -
- - My very clever cousin made Evie this personalised hair clip holder -
- - A salt lamp in the shape of a cat that I received from Virginia. It has such a lovely, soft glow, perfect for lighting up the room when we’re putting Evie to bed -
- - A rocking horse toy gift from Nanna -
- - A beautiful musical snow globe from Evie’s great Aunty Debbie -
- - A gorgeous hand-knitted dolly from Grandma (my very clever mother in law) -
- - An alpacca teddy that holds up some of Evie’s books (another gift from Nanna) -
- - A gorgeous basket from Casey, that used to hold baby products (talc powder and baby shampoo) but now holds small toys -
- - Another hand-made gift from Evie’s very clever Grandma. A beautiful quilt -
- - A cose-up of some of the appliques on the quilt -
- - An appliqued éléphant -
- - Giraffe -
- - Owls on their perch. Wall stickers that we won’t be able to re-use unfortunately -
- - Evie’s skyline of hot-air balloon wall stickers. She’s started pulling them down -
- - Beautiful MILK products which were a gift from Brooke. And the owl teddy; another gift from Evie’s great-aunty Debbie -
- - This I will miss the most…Evie’s little walk-in-robe that hangs MANY beautiful clothes (some handmade by her clever Grandma and me) -
- - The walk-in-robe with storage shelves and baskets below -
I will miss this bedroom a lot. However, there is always the nest bedroom, and the next phase in her life that I will look forward to enjoying and decorating.
Do you have a favourite room in your house? What is special about it?

What a lovely space Evie has to drop off in the land of nod!
My kitchen is my favourite room. It is designed by me and used by me every day! It is the centre of the house – both literally and figuratively.
Yes, she is very lucky with her sleeping space. i wish mine was that lovely.
What a lovely post, and a great memory of Evie’s lovely room!
It’s so exciting that you will be able to create more memories in your new home.
My favourite room is my lounge room – in particular my beautiful couch, that I bought from my surrogate Aunty Sue, I love it!
Yes, it will stay in my memory…I will miss it. You do have a beautiful couch x
This is so sweet, reminds me of my goddaughters room… I love childrens bedrooms, when I visit my goddaughter her bedroom is always so cute and airy… great job!
Thank you. Children’s bedrooms should be bright and fresh and colourful. Such a great place for hanging out in x
Her bedroom is so beautiful! I still remember and have a lot of the things I was given when I was little, the memories are so special. I look forward to seeing what you do for her new room:) X
Thank you Ingrid. I can’t wait to design the next bedroom (for a bigger girl!) x
